Games in Africa (GIA) is a pan-African games publishing, learning, and media company founded with a bold vision: to position African games, creators, and stories at the heart of the global games industry while using games as a powerful tool for education, skills development, and social impact. We exist to unlock opportunity for Africa’s immense creative talent by building pathways for African-made games to reach international markets, enabling emerging studios and young creators to generate sustainable revenue, build viable careers, and compete on the world stage. At the same time, we are deeply committed to using games as a gateway to learning; designing and supporting accessible, culturally relevant game-based learning experiences that can reach every African child, regardless of background or location. Through publishing, skills development, and media, we connect Africa’s gaming ecosystem to global trends, partners, and audiences, while amplifying African voices, ideas, and innovations to the world. Our mission is simple but ambitious: to grow a thriving African games industry, empower the next generation of creators, and ensure that Africa is not just consuming games, but shaping the future of games globally.

Our Mission

To see African games, creators, and stories take their rightful place on the global stage, powering a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable African games industry that creates opportunities, generates wealth, and inspires the next generation, while ensuring every African child can access quality learning through games.

Our Vision

To build and grow Africa’s games ecosystem by publishing and promoting African-made games globally, equipping young creators with industry-relevant skills through game-based learning and training, and connecting Africa to global games knowledge, markets, and opportunities, so that African talent can earn, scale, and lead in the future of games.
